Airtime Points are achieved by jumping off ramps and getting air. The higher and longer you go, the more points you get. Regular jumps or ramps may not get you high enough to rack up Airtime Points, so you may need to double tap the jump button (X button) right before you head off the jump. This technique can also help get more Airtime Points on larger ramps too. Use the double jump (hit the X button twice) technique to rack up some easy points.
