Drafting can prevent you from gaining drift points.

Drafting is a way to gain points and boost in ModNation Racers, and is done by racing close to and behind an opponent. The longer it is done, the more boost points you earn.
If you Drift while there is a draft message showing up on the screen, the drift will not override the draft on screen, preventing you from gaining Drift points as long as you are drafting an opponent.
Drafting an opponent is very useful when the racer you are drafting is using a warp, as you will travel in the same warp portal with the opponent.
